It's Intense, It's Emotional, It's Cross Country

ST. MARKS SECOND IN THE STATE!

It was an awesome day November 14th. State meet at Killens Pond. Everyone was so nervous before we raced even though we all knew we were going to come out on top. But still it's nerve racking. The Varsity girls; Emily Frydrych, Izzy King, Beth Sowden, Danielle Wegrzyn, Jill Price, Rachel Gagnon, and Natalie Pesetsky. All did AMAZING. At the starting line you tell everyone was *shaking in their shoes* which was expected...A few minutes before the gun was to shoo, Emily bent down and found a four leaf clover! She put it in her shoe for goodluck and it obviously came in handy because she came in fourth place! (get it four leaf clover fourth place; just a little bit of irony) and beat a st. marks school record!

Now for those boys!
Also second in the state. Everyone on the team gave it their all. It was an outstanding performance. Zach Kaminski came in first place! He is the state champion! And a little fyi that was his goal for this year. Thom Harrington, Kyle Fox, and Nate Castanada were all in the top ten. Chris Steenkamer, Matt Feely, And Matt Mossman also did great!

Natalie F. and Natalie P.
Same name same birthday .
What a kawinky dink.

We came as strangers, became friends, and left as a family.

It's officially over. Bada Bing Bada Boom. That fast. What a season, up down turn around. I'm one hundred percent sure that we had the best team in all of Delaware. We are so close, there was never one of those moments where one girl on the team didn't like the other. And I loved that.
Friday was every one's last practice... At the beginning we gave a tribute to the freshman and they had a race down the hill. (my obnoxious laughing in the background :S )

In the end the boys ended up beating Ellie and Rachel our only two freshman. Who by the way kicked each other in the head several time and could have caused themselves to have serious brain damage.
From the we proceeded up to our "secret spot" and did this..

It was so sad all the seniors had their names shouted from the highest point in Delaware. From there we proceeded up to the Three forty's hallway and had a meditation in the middle of the hallway. It was both Natalie's birthday's !

More about the last Race and Party later..

Let's not forget.

HAPPPY BIRTHDAY IZZZYYY!!!!!
Roseena made some absolutely delicious cookies in celebration.
And Coach brought pretzels!

Last Work Out :/

Well don't get me wrong...I'm awfully pleased that was the last "run yourself into the ground" workout for the season. But I will definitely miss it. Pushing myself to the limit and improving week by week, seeing how far I can actually go. I'm sure each person has their own opinion of this but that's just what I think. This is the last week of practice for JV. The last week of our whole dis functional family together. What a season it has been. I have feeling this will be one of the best weeks.

Today's practice was... hard. A mile hard, two 800's. The first one significantly faster than the mile. Then the second all out. Finished off with two paced 400's. It was successful. Everyone did amazingly. Lot's of P.R's again.

This also happened...
Today we have a Monday afternoon practice... even though we don't have school. It's going to be a hard work out :( Should be interesting. There's no way out of this it's absolutely manditory.

“Frustration is the first step towards improvement. I have no incentive to improve if I’m content with what I can do and if I’m completely satisfied with my pace, distance and form as a runner. It’s only when I face frustration and use it to fuel my dedication that I feel myself moving forwards.”
